Who would you rather have in dynasty and why? Youth w/a crowded receiving core vs a few years of elite production.....

I'll take Gates. He is slowing down, but he is still elite. He plays with a proven QB in a proven offense. Fred Davis will be playing with a rookie QB so that is unpredictable. Even though there are no star WRs in Washington, they have plenty of people wanting the ball. You also have to factor in that he's only had one good season and he couldn't even stop smoking weed long enough to finish it.
So, I take Gates. Use what he has left and take that time to find his replacement.

Davis and its not close for me. Gates is nearing the cliff and while yes, we don't know who will emerge as legit WR targets, we do know that A) Davis is his #1 legit target and B) A rookie QBs best friend is his TE. I not only like Davis for the long term, but I like him THIS year to out produce Gates. Plus it takes a world class idiot to keep smoking weed. That doesn't mean it won't happen, b/c god knows it does, but more often than not these guys do clean it up for a while.

If Gates can put his foot issue in the rear view mirror he coul stick around for a bit like Gonzo. The foot is the key though, you're speculating either way since its impossible to know at this exact time. As far as my vote, I go Gates. No VJax means more targets "assuming" Meachem, Floyd and Brown can keep defenses honest which I think they will. Gates should still put up top 3-5 numbers. I love Davis, but I play to win now and Gates gives me the best shot at that. The Skin's offense will be a little crowded, and there are too many moving parts for me to feel comfortable with him over Gates right now in win-now mode.

Myself and others believe it will be a huge comeback year for Gates. With VJax gone, I see a return to the early 2000's with Mathews pounding the rock and Gates being the #1 target over the middle in the pass game. LBs are screwed no matter which way they cheat.
I admit to not being totally up on Fred Davis. He always seemed an "ok" option but nothing to write home about. I know others are singing his praises and maybe i'm just missing something.
Back to the question, I'd easily side with Gates who I think has 4 top5 years left in him
