Saints signed LB David Hawthorne to a five-year contract.
And with that my LB rankings are all messed up. This futher proves to me the saints are moving on from Vilma. They have brought in 2 Thumpers now since Bountygate broke.

yeah wish I could say I have not vested interest...lol
Vilma, dunbar, Wilson are all on my roster. Dunbar now traded and likley not much of a factor and with all the new signings Im not thinking it bodes well for Vilma or Wilson now...lol

Yep, the writing is on the wall for Vilma.

Man I can't believe how easy it is for teams to sign these LB'ers. Why didn't anyone else go hot and heavy after these guys? Kind of sucks seeing probably the top two FA LB'ers go to the same team.

Seattle wanted Hawthorne back but thought they could lowball him since the market had dried up...now they look like idiots (sorta like Miami and Flynn).

Gambler,
You said the signing messes up your rankings...In what way? Does the signing hurt both Lofton and Hawthorne? I expect Lofton to grab the MLB position and to earn low end LB1 numbers. Hawthorne will play on the outside...I think he drops from a LB2 in Seattle to a LB3 in New Orleans.

I'm in the Seattle area so I've had a love affair with Hawthorne. He was ranked pretty highly by myself but will now be moving down some.

You know, more and more I wouldn't be surprised of the Saints transition to a 3-4 defense. I think this is especially true if Vilma only gets a few game suspension. They are gathering all the LB pieces...even if Vilma is gone they'd have two imposing guys at (potentially) ILB. If they stick to the 4-3 I think Hawthorne moves outside, something I feel is a poor utilization of his talents.

I'm sure you'll make some adjustments.
