I chose trade down...........gobble up some other picks. I think they already have the most picks in the draft this year with 12 if I am not mistaken.

Right now I'm at 34% Blackmon, 33% TRich and 33% Trade Down. I give Blackmon a slight edge, but Richardson is gaining. Either which way they go, i think they can go the opposite later in the draft.

Player Highlight: QB - Colt McCoy
Here is my feelings on McCoy. I think he gets another shot. I'm not going to blame him solely for an awful offense that was caused by more than the QB position by itself.
Lets start with the OL. It was in shambles and pretty non-existent, at least on the right side, which allowed many rushers to pressure Colt and put him on his backside all season long.
And to make matters worse, lets talk about the receivers. The Browns led the league in drops last season. These drops were not just the QB missing the mark passes but receivers actually dropping catchable passes that should have been and would have been caught in other situations.
Another thing that a lot of people fail to take into account is the playcalling. It was abysmally awful. This is all Shurmur's fault here. You cannot succeed in this league with the very vanilla playbook that Shurmur was running. And to make it more difficult on the offense, he ran the same play on every first down...Run straight down the middle as if it was going to fool someone. It's a lot harder for an offense to get anywhere when you are starting on second down with 9 yards to go on first down, on every first down.
The last thing I will mention is the shortened season due to the strike. Colt was placed in a bad situation with a new head coach/OC and a new system with little time to learn the system along with having time as a team to practice and get used to it. This was a severe handicapped that was beyond his control.
I think if the Browns can fix the OL problems and work on actually catching the ball then Colt can succeed. He is a very accurate passer and just needs time. I think this year will be his to decide his future as a NFL QB. I think he can prove his naysayers wrong and will do so. He'll have the time to accustom himself to the system and hopefully the right tools around him to succeed.
Fantasy Impact:
Here's the tricky part. What value does Colt hold in fantasy? If you are in a 1 QB redraft league, then do not look at him, but keep an eye on him, though if you are really desperate for QBs, only rely on him to be a QB2, though he should be really a QB3 at most at this point. If you are in a 2QB league, he'd have more value as all QBs will, but I wouldn't look at him too hard, but he'd be a decent filler for a week or two.
The biggest value would be in Dynasty, which I do feel he'd be a decent pickup to hold on to, just in case. I wouldn't rely on him to be anything, but if you have a roster spot for a bench QB, he can make you rich later if he succeeds. He's a decent QB3 or low QB2 for the desperate. This is his make or break year. If he succeeds, then keep him. If he flounders or just shows a shimmer of promise at most, then cut him loose.

Great stuff mtux! Love your in-depth take on McCoy. Very informative. This is why I love the homer threads.

As discussed here: dynastyfw.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=homer&action=display&thread=269Rumors abound that the Dolphins may trade up to #3 with the Vikings to snag Tannehill away from the Browns. I, for one, welcome this action to occur and hope that the Vikings do trade their 3rd pick to a team like Miami or KC so they can take Tannehill. There is a couple of reasons why I would like for a team to trade with the Vikings to get ahead of the Browns for a couple of reasons: Reason #1: A lot of Browns fans, including myself, do not want to see Tannehill picked by the Browns, whether it be at #4, #22 or even #37. There is a good consensus that he will not succeed in the NFL. Whether that be true or not, we have other needs than to settle on the 3rd QB to be picked in the draft. Of course, most want to replace Colt, but don't see Tannehill as a viable replacement, I don't think Colt needs to be replaced anyways, but that's a different story that I've touched on multiple times here. Reason #2: Kalil. If Kalil does not go with the #3 pick, the Browns have two very good options. They can draft Kalil to play Right Tackle and be backup LT, but that is a pricey venture considering we have a highly paid Joe Thomas on the Left already and paying a lot for a highly-touted LT to play RT is a bit pricey, though it would immediately lock up our OL for years with Joe Thomas and Kalil on the ends and Alex Mack in the center. Reason #2b: IMO, Kalil makes for a better trade bargaining chip at #4 than Tannehill at #3, heck Kalil at #3 is a better bargaining chip at #3 than Tannehill and I don't see why the Vikings will sell #3 to a team for Tannehill. I believe there's more demand for a franchise LT than a 3rd best QB in the draft and there will be a couple of teams drooling to get the chance at Kalil if he slips past the Vikings, who need a LT as well and I see would be foolish to pass on Kalil. As a Browns fan, we know how important a great LT is. If it weren't for Joe Thomas anchoring the left, Colt would have not got a single pass off last year with pressure coming off the right as well as the left. To make a long story short, the Vikings would be foolish to trade their chance at a franchise LT and if they do, Cleveland will most likely trade down with an awesome trade package like last year with Atlanta. Question: When was the last time QBs went 1-2-3 in the draft and the last time 3 picks in a row got traded? If Miami trades with the Vikings to get Tannehill, I can see both of those situations happening this year.

Two more weeks until the draft and I think I made up my mind on what the Browns should do with the #4 pick, not what they will do with it, but what they should do with it.
I think the Browns should pick Trent Richardson with the 4th pick. Even with the relatively short careers of Running Backs, the Browns need an elite player to spark the offense. I think the best elite player on the board would be Richardson and I'm starting to lose faith that Blackmon can be considered elite and the Browns can grab some other WRs later in the draft to pair with Little.

That has been my contention this whole time. T-rich is the best "elite" offensive possibility in the draft and a RB although short life span can do more for and offense than even an elite WR...IMO
